November 12th 5:30-7:00 PM. This November, we are offering another free cycling injury prevention class. This workshop will be taught by 2 physical therapists with cycling and bike fit experience. Learn about common cycling injuries, and practice the movements you should be doing during to reduce your risk of injury.
Free community education: Ski & Snowbaoard Injury Prevention
October 22nd at 5:30PM. This October, we are excited to offer a second annual free ski & snowboard injury prevention class. This workshop will be taught by 2 physical therapists and our talented certified athletic trainer. Learn about common ski and snowboard injuries and practice the movements you should be doing during pre-season to reduce your risk of injury.
Free community education: Dizziness
September 10th 6-7:30 PM. Our physical therapists have extensive education and experience with dizziness and balance issues, and have worked with many clients to improve or overcome these debilitating problems. Learn about dizziness, what you can do about it, and how we can help. This is a free class, as part of our monthly community education series.

July 30th 6:00 - 7:30 PM. This workshop will be taught Anna Luna and Karen Lovely, physical therapists with extensive running experience and advanced training and experience working with runners with injuries of all kinds. Learn about common running injuries and practice the movements you should be doing during to reduce your risk of injury. This is a free class, as part of our monthly community education series.
Free community education: Rock Climbing Wrist & Thumb Pain
May 14th 6-7:30 PM. This workshop will be taught by Jenny Ploss, a physical therapist with more than 15 years climbing experience and more than 6 years experience working with climbers with injuries. Learn about your wrist and thumb, and practice injury prevention and management exercises you should be doing during to reduce your risk of injury.
Free workshop: Concussion--what you need to know.
April 16th, 2019 at 6 PM. Julie Holt, athletic trainer at Langford Sports & Physical Therapy will teach us about concussions and what we need to do after a concussion to best care for our brains. Learn what to watch for, and how to return to your normal activities after a concussion.
Free workshop: Changes during and after pregnancy
March 5th 5:30-7 PM. This workshop will be taught by Genevieve Richter and Nora Quintal, physical therapists who work with women during and after pregnancy at Langford. Learn about how the amazing female body changes to accommodate pregnancy and delivery. We will educate you on these changes and provided exercises that you can do during pregnancy and postpartum to help optimize recovery, and prevent injury. This class is free, as part of our community education series.

Movement Links of the Lower Quarter: 20 CEUs for Physical Therapists
November 16-18, 2018. 20 CEUs for PTs and PTAs. This 3-day lab-intensive workshop is designed to provide a deeper understanding and application of the movement and neuromuscular approaches in the evaluation & management of musculoskeletal pain syndromes. Functional regional interdependence between the muscular, osteoarticular and central nervous system in the regulation of movement will be a focus of discussion and practice. Clinical reasoning of the evaluation and management process of the upper quarter with particular attention to the lumbo-pelvic-hip relationship and its integration with manual orthopedic procedures will be also discussed. This workshop strives to provide the participant tools necessary to become proficient in basic functional movement analysis with extensive hands-on practice and feedback.
Soccer Injury Prevention: A free workshop for coaches, physical therapists, and athletic trainers.
November 6, 2018 at 5:30 PM. Julie Holt, athletic trainer at Langford Sports & Physical Therapy will teach about the FIFA 11+, an injury-prevention warm-up that helps prevent non-contact ACL injuries in soccer players. You’ll get to learn briefly about ACL injury in soccer, and how to use the FIFA-11+ with your players and clients in order to reduce injury risk.
