Patient Care Coordinator – Level 1
Patient Care Coordinator – Level 1 Job in Albuquerque, NM
Langford Sports and Physical Therapy is a busy outpatient physical therapy practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, built on the idea that patient care comes first, starting from the moment someone walks through the door. We’re hiring for a Patient Care Coordinator – Level 1 job in Albuquerque, NM, and we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in helping others and an understanding of what it takes to make a patient’s first impression a good one. This is a front-office role at the center of a clinic that treats outpatient orthopedic conditions, spine, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle concerns among them, so the coordination you provide directly shapes how smoothly each patient’s visit goes. Prior customer service, front office, medical office, or healthcare experience is a plus, but what matters most is a friendly, professional, patient-focused demeanor and a willingness to learn.
The First Point of Contact for Patient Care
As a Level 1 Patient Care Coordinator, you’ll welcome patients as they arrive, answer and route phone calls, and manage scheduling and sign-in using our PROMPT EMR system. Day to day, that means handling incoming calls, maintaining voicemail and call logs, verifying next appointments, and identifying when a patient needs additional visits added to their plan of care. You’ll also work cancellation-prevention procedures, reschedule appointments as needed, and help make sure patients don’t quietly drop off their prescribed plan of care, alongside collecting copays and handling basic front-office duties like faxing, copying, and mail. It’s detail-heavy work that calls for strong organization and the ability to multitask and prioritize, and the practice depends on getting it right every day so patients feel seen and supported rather than shuffled through.
Structured Onboarding and Room to Grow
Langford runs a structured onboarding process for new team members, including clinic orientation, workflow training, and EMR instruction, so you’re not left to figure out the systems on your own. New hires shadow experienced staff during the first weeks on the job, and ongoing development includes scheduled one-on-one check-ins with leadership and continuing education support. The practice is explicit that it wants coordinators who want to grow within the company and take on more responsibility as training and competency are demonstrated, so this Level 1 role is a starting point rather than a ceiling. You’ll be joining a team-first culture that leadership describes as collaborative and grounded in respect and shared goals, working alongside physical therapists, assistants, and rehab technicians who all depend on a well-run front desk to keep the clinic’s day moving without unnecessary friction.
Compensation:
- $16.00 per hour
If you’re looking for a front-office role where your organization and follow-through directly shape a patient’s experience, and where there’s a real path to grow into more responsibility, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be joining a team-first clinic that invests in structured onboarding and ongoing support rather than leaving new coordinators to sink or swim.
